About our Director
Mr. Hameed is a distinguished and successful entrepreneur in the Maldivian inbound tourism industry. He began his career in 1977 at Bandos Island Resort and gained extensive experience through various local and international hotel chains. His tenure at notable travel agencies and handling clients for Swiss Air at the Maldives airport further honed his expertise.
In 1990, Mr. Hameed founded Skorpian Travel Maldives Pvt. Ltd., which grew rapidly under his leadership, becoming a member of the American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) and the Japanese Association of Travel Agents (JATA). The agency earned a reputation for excellence, driven by Mr. Hameed’s dynamic management skills and visionary approach.
Recognised for his contributions to the tourism industry, Mr. Hameed received the Distinguished Service Award for 25 years of sustainable tourism in the Maldives in 1997. His strong relationships with resorts, hotels, guesthouses, and international tour operators underscore his professionalism and dedication.
In 2014, Mr. Hameed founded Azla Maldives, where he continues to leverage his extensive experience and industry network as Managing Director. His goal is to establish Azla Maldives as a leading, high-quality service provider in the Maldivian tourism sector.
